Investigating the Effect of Amino Linker Exchange in the ZIF-8 Metal-Organic Framework on the Loading and Release of 5-FU Drug

Abstract
In this study, the effect of amino linker exchange in ZIF-8 metal-organic frameworks on the loading and release of 5-Fluorouracil was investigated. For this purpose, at first ZIF-8 nanoparticles were synthesized. Then, the Solvent-assisted linker exchange method was utilized to exchange part of 2-methylimidazole linkers with 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole in ZIF-8 structure. Three amine-functionalized ZIF-8 with 22%, 53%, and 74% of Atz exchange were synthesized. The drug was loaded into ZIF-8, ZIF-8A(22%), ZIF-8A(53%) ,and ZIF-8A(74%).
