Design and Manufacturing of Intelligent Speed Hump

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rashedi, Mohammad (Author) ; Saadat Foumani, Mahmoud (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The goal of using speed humps is to reduce the velocity of cars to allowable value. Reducing the speed more than necessary before arriving at the hump, causes losing kinetic energy whose compensation needs consuming more fuel. In fact, the total fuel consumption of vehicles is noticeable and it expresses the need for allowable speed definition to prevent wasting fuel. In this project, using different methods in engineering design and by defining allowable speed, an intelligent speed hump is designed and selected from different patterns which may remain protuberant or become like the road surface in level. The parts considered for this hump are selected simple to lower the cost of...

Dynamics and Control of Seat Suspension Systems

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Baziari, Khashayar (Author) ; Ghaemi Osgouie, kambeez (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Suspension systems play a significant role in vehicles. They are responsible for providing ride comfort to the passengers and maintain car handling. Vibrations induced by the road can cause harmful effects on human body and this reveals the importance of designing and controlling the suspension system. Semi-active control is a reliable and safe method that has attracted a great deal of attention in the suppressing the car vibration. MR damper is a sample of semi-active control method. In most of the studies that have been done in literature the human body model has not been considered in designing the control strategy. In this study, a complete model of suspension system integrated with the...

Effect of Superhydrophobic Materials Application on the Car Body to Reduce Drag

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Valizadeh, Mahsa (Author) ; Moosavi, Ali (Supervisor) ; Khodaygan, Saeed ($item.subfieldsMap.e)
    Abstract
Considering the importance of environmental issues and the limitation of fuel supplies in the world, car issues have become one of the most important debates of the day. The methods used to reduce fuel consumption and emissions of greenhouse gases are primarily aimed at changing vehicle structure to reduce drag. An external body shape has been developed to reduce drag forces over the years. Due to the existence of limitations in the actual conditions of the theory, such as the beauty and convenience production, other methods should be examined. In this study, the structure of superhydrophobic properties materials with the emphasis on innovation has been considered. In order to investigate...

Designing and Evaluation of an Ejector-Cooling Air Conditioning System for Passenger Vehicles

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Hossienpour, Mohammad Javad (Author) ; Hakkaki Fard, Ali (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Today, global warming is one of the main concerns of human society. Many factors contribute to global warming and air pollution. Air pollution in the metropolis cities has influenced human life. Vehicles are considered as one of the major sources of air pollution. Vehicle air conditioners bring conform to passengers, but they increase fuel consumption. Increased fuel consumption results in the production of pollutants and air pollution. In this study, the ejector cooling system is proposed as a cooling system of a car air conditioning system, and its performance is studied. To this aim, first, an ejector cooling cycle equivalent to the compression cooling cycle is designed. The ejector is...

System Management in Pricing Automobile Characteristics to Reduce Air Pollution and Upgrade Technology

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Moradloo, Nastaran (Author) ; Poorzahedy, Hossein (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Air pollution is known as one of the most important problems of large cities. The main reason for such air pollution is the increase in using private vehicles. There are some solutions for controlling and reducing air pollution. One efficient way to achieve this goal is by imposing taxes on aspects of private vehicles. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of taxes on different aspects of private cars to reduce city air pollution, by (1) promoting users to purchase smaller and higher vehicle technology including electric cars, and drive less, and (2) forcing local car manufacturing companies by market demand mechanism to improve technology in their products. This study is a...
