Abstract
This thesis proposes a dynamic model for studding influences of suspension components behavior on rail vehicle dynamics. As the air springs are very important isolating component in rail vehicles, a new complete nonlinear air spring model, with taking into consideration of thermo–dynamical effects, is developed. The model coefficients are tuned based on the real test data and it can be easily used in dynamic modeling of air springs. The new proposed vehicle model is a complete track–vehicle model with 70 degree of freedoms which is addressed as a modular type. Experimental results from complete rail–vehicle field test, showed remarkable agreement between proposed model and test results....
Driveability Control for Manual Transmissions Using Control of Electronic Throttle
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Sayyaadi, Hassan (Supervisor)
Abstract
Due to the destructive effects of sudden and adverse changes in acceleration on the human body, drivability control has a particular importance in the automotive industry. Driveability control makes car occupants feel a smooth and comfortable driving, and it will play a vital role in the competition between companies to provide a good product with optimal driving quality. In this project, the aim is to achieve a smooth acceleration curve in a vehicle equipped with a manual transmissions. The meaning of smooth acceleration curve is to reduce jerk and shock caused by inappropriate driver behaviors and to control the car's torque and acceleration to a desirable level. In this project, first, the...
Simulating Different Energy Optimization Solutions in Buildings and Providing a Set of the Best Approaches with the Aim of Optimizing Energy and Simultaneously Providing Comfort In Different Climates of Iran
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kazemzadeh Hannani, Siamak (Supervisor)
Abstract
Sustainable development is a general concept in all aspects of human life, including social, economic, environmental, etc. Since one of the pillars of achieving sustainable development is the optimization of energy consumption, and on the other hand, energy consumption in buildings accounts for one third of the country's annual energy consumption, so it is very important to provide solutions that can reduce energy consumption in this sector. Therefore, in this research, with the aim of optimizing energy consumption in buildings, examples in different climates of Iran are selected and effective strategies to reduce energy consumption are identified according to each climate and used to...
The Nonlinear Self-Excited Vibration Analysis of a Frictional Disc Brake by Use of Perturbation Methods
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Haddadpour, Hassan (Supervisor)
Abstract
The brake system is a key component to ensuring the safe driving and riding comfort of the vehicle, and the friction between the brake disc and the friction plate is the main source of vibration and noise. Therefore, in order to improve the stability of the braking system and reduce the generation of vibration, a one-degree-of-freedom nonlinear dynamics model was established, and using the Stribeck friction model and related parameters, the dynamic equation was solved by the Averaging- method. The time domain diagram and phase plane diagram of the brake disk during friction braking were obtained, and the vibration characteristics of both under different braking pressure, brake disc support...
