    Abstract
    Three distinct areas in linguistic studies are typically considered, namely, syntax, semantics and pragmatics. Each category has a specific realm and deals with special linguistic phenomena. Presenting exact definition and clarification of the corresponding boundaries of each area is considered in both linguistics and philosophy of language. In order to explain the “meaning” for sentences of a language, this issue turns out to be vital.     Abstract
    This thesis is focused on designing material and experiments to evaluate listeners’ ability in perception of consonants. The ability to identify a consontant against another consonant which differs from the fist one in just one single acoustic-phonetic feature is considered. We have also examined the influence of the context in perception as the material is designed in prevoweol- post-v and within-v contexts. A software is designed and have been used to evaluated patients with normal people. Our main acheivements are listed below
