, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Tasavori, Misagh (Supervisor) ; Najmi, Manouchehr (Supervisor)
Abstract
This research, addressing the significance of conducting studies in the under-explored and vital field of social entrepreneurship in Iran, which has a profound impact on the country's sustainable development, seeks to answer the following question: "How can various internal and external factors—factors both controllable and uncontrollable by the social entrepreneur—influence their resilience in Iran's unstable environment?" By identifying and presenting a comprehensive model of all factors affecting resilience at the individual (not organizational) level and the persistence of social entrepreneurship within the context of Iran—a developing country facing a unique combination of crises and...
Data-Driven Blood Supply Chain Network Design under Uncertainty: Robust Bi-Objective Optimization
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Varmazyar, Mohsen (Supervisor)
Abstract
The blood supply chain faces substantial challenges due to fluctuations in donation and demand, as well as the perishability of blood products. Consequently, decision makers require an integrated analytical framework to ensure resilient and efficient operations. This study develops a multi-product, bi-objective robust optimization model for designing a blood supply chain capable of withstanding demand variability. From the perspective of blood bank managers, the model simultaneously minimizes operational costs and transportation time while satisfying hospital demand. The decision scope includes locating and configuring permanent and temporary facilities, determining shipment policies, and...
