Optimal Combination of Aerodynamic and Reaction Jet Control in a Vertical Launch Vehicle

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Khosravi Samani, Mahdi (Author) ; Nobahari, Hadi (Supervisor) ; Kashefi, Saeid (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
In this research, the design of control system has been studied for a special flying vehicle at whole of flight time. This flying vehicle is vertically launched and few time after launch its attitude changes to the desired attitude by a reaction jet control system, then the acceleration commands are tracked when the aerodynamic is activated. Design process includes attitude control system design in launch phase and aerodynamic control system design. Because of the existence of nonlinear and multi-variable dynamics in the flying vehicle and the presence of uncertainty and disturbance, combination of nonlinear, robust and adaptive methods are used in controller design process. Design of...

Quantum Estimation of Open Systems Using Extended Cramer-Rao Bounds

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mehboudi, Mohammad (Author) ; Rezakhani, Ali (Supervisor) ; Alipour, Sahar (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Any physical system is characterized with some set of quantities or parameters, knowing which, is equivalent to estimation of the system. Evaluating such parameters is usually done using tomography methods. An important question to ask, is how to increase the precision of measurement, being able to do some specific set of physical operations, say, measurement?
this question is more important in parameter estimation in quantum meanical systems. It has been shown that, quantum meanics causes a fundamental limit, on precision of estimating su parameters, escribed by the so called “antum Cramér-Rao bound”.We must note that almost all quantum meanical systems are interacting with the...

    List Estimation

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Shahrivari, Farzad (Author) ; Amini, Arash (Supervisor) ; Aminzadeh Gohari, Amin (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Let X be an unknown vector of size n which is to be estimated from a known m 1 vector Y. According to the MMSE criterion, the best estimator (denoted bX(Y)) is an estimator which minimizes the mean squared error. Now, consider a List Decodingproblem in which the sender delivers a list of codes instead of a single decoder. Assume that it is allowed to use multiple parallel estimators (bX1 (Y); ^X2(Y); : : : ; bX k(Y)) instead of delivering a single estimation of samples. The goal is to find the best possible list of estimators, in a way that the mean squared error is optimized between the multiple bX i(Y); (i = 1; 2; : : : ; k). As a medical example, imagine a MRI device which produces three...
