Modeling of Walking in a Gait Trainer, to Modify and Optimize Its Mechanism

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Salehy Aminy, Mohammad (Author) ; Farahmand, Farzam (Supervisor) ; Narimani, Roya (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Several diseases and injuries may cause disability in locomotion (especially walking). Spinal cord injuries, brain stroke and disease like Parkinson are the most major causes. In the past, some efforts has been made to reduce the effect of organ’s disabilities, but today, there is the chance of healing the spinal cord injury By using new (Schwann Cell) method. Due to long time stillness and severe muscles weakness; condensed physiotherapy exercise is essential to recover locomotion abilities, particularly in walking. In this way, if the practices matches with the normal walking (especially weight bearing); it has more physiological and psychological effect. In order to achieve this goal, a...

Design and Prototyping and Experimental Analysis of a Foot with Toe Joint for Exoskeletons

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rostami Barooji, Hosein (Author) ; Vossoughi, Golam Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
One of the recent studies in the field of humanoid robots is to achieve a robot gait close to the human-like gait. Therefore, using the foot equipped with passive or active toe joint is developed in case of robots. The results of several studies show that the segmented foot with a toe joint has several advantages compared to the rigid foot in: walking speed, range of joint angle and ability to kneel and climb higher steps. Both passive and active toe joints of humanoid robots are developed. Advantages of the passive toe joint is obvious; in terms of design, it is more simple and light. Moreover, in normal gait, when the robot is equipped with passive toe joint, body inertial causes an...

Design and Construction of Smart Insole to Measure the Force of the Human Foot Dynamics during Daily Activities

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Nezafat, Parisa (Author) ; Selk Ghafari, Ali (Supervisor) ; Zabihollah, Abolghasem (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years, leg pain is a consequence of inappropriate foot movement, which is an important health problem for us today. The health problems of the foot and the waist are due to wearing inappropriate footwear that is not designed for different activities. For example, Walking, long-standing on the feet, cycling and so on. A shoe insufflator is not suitable for walking, cycling, and standing. For designing an appropriate shoe insole for different activities, it is important to have a force determination profile for each person. This means that the insoles design shoes should be personal. A low-cost device has been designed, which can be used to measure the pressure on the sole of the...
