Evaluation of Seismic Behavior of Concrete Moment ResistingFrames with Infilled Prefabricated Concrete Sandwich Panels

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Andalib, Mohammad Saied (Author) ; Rahimzadeh Rofooei, Fayaz (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Wall systems are an essential part of the buildings and their capacity can be used in designing the structures. However, the seismic behavior of building systems with infilled walls has not been well understood. Implementation ofinfilled walls in the buildings without including them in the design process, changes the failure mechanism and the whole behavior of the structural system against earthquakes. On the other hand, there has been extensive research on rehabilitation of structures with infilled walls,or designing them as the main or one of the lateral load carrying systems against earthquake excitations. In this study, the existing 3-D Panel’s details as the infilled wall of a...

Study of Traffic Flow Characteristics in Frontage Roads in Iran

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Poorjafari, Mohammad (Author) ; Vaziri, Manouchehr (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Frontage roads are widely used to separate the main and the local traffic flows in multilane highways. Based on the studies conducted by Texas Transportation Institute, the delay imposed by ramp junction is considered for calculating the average speed in frontage roads in addition to the control delay caused by traffic lights. This delay and the capacity of frontage roads are analysed using gap acceptance theory. In this study, two different sections consisting of a basic section and merge area are selected along Tehran-Karaj special road as case studies and the required data are collected by video recording. After classifying and analysing the data, a wide range of macro traffic-analyses...
