kinematic and Dynamic Analysis of a 7 DOF Motorcycle and Derivation and Solution of its Equation of Motion using Newton and Lagrange Methods
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; sohrabpour, saeed (Supervisor) ; zohoor, hassan (Co-Advisor)
Abstract
Motorcycle has one of the most complicated geometries and mechanisms and its kinematic, according to the articles surveyed, has always been expressed with approximation and simplification in the degrees of freedom and especially in the magnitude of the angles. Analyzing the dynamic model of bodies, using methods like Kane, Lagrange, Boltzmann-Hamel, Gibbs-Apple, Newton, Hamilton and Ross, lead to mechanism’s equations of motion. While the equations of motions, obtained from alternative methods, lead to the same result, but the number of differential equations and sometimes their order, are different in different methods, and therefore their numerical solving time for the body’s motion, are...
Examining The Relationship Between Motorcycle Crash Severity and Motorcyclist Risky Bihaviors at Iran’s Suburban Roads
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kermanshah, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
Motorcycles are very dangerous as safety point of view and their drivers are more than other vehicles' drivers subject to danger. In recent years, death rate of motorcycles accidents in Iran is increased as much as it has become the government's concern. The purpose of this research is the analysis of the effects of various factors in the intensity of the motorcycles accidents in the national rural roads. In order to do this, the information of the rural motorcycles accidents that are happened in 2010 and the spring of 2011 is used. Explanatory variables are categorized to various factors like perimeter characteristics, driver's characteristics, crash characteristics and the roads...
Micro-modeling of Tehran 4-stroke Gasoline Motorcycle Fleet Emission and Investigating the Effects of Increasing Fueling System and Engine Technology Level
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Hosseini, Vahid (Supervisor)
Abstract
The city of Tehran is dealing with air pollution problems for years. Providing a solution for this problem requires information about different pollutants emission sources. In this subjects, emission factors and emission models are essential tools for decision makers. Among different mobile emission sources in Tehran, motorcycles are of high importance. In this project, for the first time in Iran, exhaust gas pollutants emission of 66 motorcycles with different ages and engine displacement volumes were measured according to Euro-3 standard certification procedure. Measurement results showed that none of the tested motorcycles passed the Euro-3 certification limit on CO emission. Calculations...
Examining the Factors Influencing the Severity of Motorcycle Accidents: A Case Study in Eight Provinces of Iran to Investigate Geographical Location Differences
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kermanshah, Amir Hassan (Supervisor)
Abstract
Among motorized vehicles, motorcycles are recognized as a common mode of transportation in countries with low to moderate income. Iran is also one of the countries where motorcycles are considered a primary means of transportation. However, in recent years, motorcycle accidents have sharply increased, with 30 percent of accidents in Iran involving motorcycles. This highlights the importance and necessity of taking measures to enhance safety and reduce motorcycle accidents in Iran. In this study, data on intercity motorcycle accidents in the provinces of Khorasan Razavi, Isfahan, Qom, Mazandaran, Gilan, Hamedan, Hormozgan, and Ilam were used. The main objective was to identify and compare the...
