10KV High Voltgage DC Power Supply by Diode Rectifier and Switching Regulator to Reduce Output Capacitor
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kaboli, Shahriyar (Supervisor)
Abstract
High voltage dc power supplies are commonly used in medical equipment, microwave lamps, X-ray equipment and radio transmission systems. In radio Transmission power supplies the output voltage quality is of great importance and the output voltage ripple must be very low. In addition usage of low frequency transformer and rectifier needs large bulk capacitors to reduce output voltage ripple. Moreover, to reduce energy discharged into load in load short circuit faults the output capacitance should be as low as possible. An approach to solve this problem is to use a diode rectifier and a switching power supply in series configuration. The Advantage is that the switching power supply provides a...
Explain the General Policies of Iran (Government)in the Field of Cryptocurrencies
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Maleki, Ali (Supervisor) ; Mirzapour, Hossein (Co-Supervisor)
Abstract
This research deals with one of the current issues in the world and in Iran, which is named the field of cryptocurrencies. Domain that is managed decentrally due to the use of blockchain platform. This decentralization has caused different challenges (security problems, disruption of economic governance, etc.) for governments and has created different advantages and disadvantages for each country. This study seeks to investigate how Iran is facing the challenges in the field of cryptocurrencies. In this research, three main questions have been asked to determine the situation of Iran in the field of cryptocurrencies. In the first question, what are the policies of Iran is questioned and then...
Good Governance Structure for Securing the Supply of Oil Products at Iran's Transportation Sector
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Maleki, Abbas (Supervisor)
Abstract
The oil refining industry, as the first oil supply chain, is of great importance. By examining the issue of the Iranian Oil Refining Industry, using the game theory, one can find an accurate analysis of the barriers to the development of this industry. For this purpose, the main factors affecting the oil refining industry, the government and the refinery's owner, are modeled and their benefits are considered. By examining the relationship between these actors and their actions, the following strategies are proposed to improve the administration and regulate the Iranian oil refining industry:
1- Refining feed prices, according to the quality of crude oil (sulfur content and API...

Institutional Evaluation of Iran's Communications Regulator; Using Institutional Theory
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Shadnam, Masoud (Supervisor)
Abstract
With the increase in the number of regulatory agencies and the proliferation of the idea of regulatory state since the second half of the 20th century, regulators have become one of the important pillars of governance systems. In Iran, the communication market can be considered one of the leading markets in having a modern regulatory body. This thesis deals with the evaluation and analysis of the situation of Iran's communications regulator. In the descriptive layer, relying on regulatory governance literature, we examine Iran's communications regulator from the perspective of institutional indicators of independence, accountability, and tools. We argue that the characteristics of regulators...
Evaluating the Independence and Accountability of the National Competition Council Based on Principal-Agent Theory
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Shadnam, Masoud (Supervisor)
Abstract
Following the rise of the regulatory state and the proliferation of regulatory agencies around the world, Iran is also experiencing such an evolving landscape in the machinery of public sector towards a specific form of regulatory state. The establishment of the National Competition Council in the late 1380s is definitely one of the most prominent points of this evolutionary path; An institution that is the best example of an Independent Regulatory Agency (IRA) in Iran. In general, independence is considered one of the most fundamental institutional features of regulatory agencies, which brings many benefits, but due to the non-election and non-democratic nature of independent regulatory...
