Application of Polymeric Membranes in Separation of Lube Oil Dissolved in MEK/Toluene Using OSN

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Monjezi, Saman (Author) ; Soltanieh, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
A kind of novel nanofiltration membrane process is proposed to solvent recovery from dewaxed lube oil stream in an energy-saving way. Most of the nanofiltration membrane materials are polymeric and cannot survive harsh conditions, for example, MEK contained solvents. Hence, high solubility of most of the polymeric materials in the solvent, especially in the MEK, is a challenge to researchers. To prepare a polymeric membrane that can solve the problem integrally skinned polyaniline (PAni) membrane was cast on a woven polyester backing material, and then crosslinked in two different ways, chemically and thermally, to make the membrane resistant in MEK (methyl ethyl ketene) and toluene for long...

Development of a Bio-refinery Based on Tomato Waste

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Rajabi, Roya (Author) ; Kariminia, Hamid Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this project, tomato processing waste has been considered as a raw material for bio-refinery applications. Some products from tomato wastes that are usable, economical and environmentally friendly have chosen after lots of studying on researches in regards of producing valuable materials from tomato waste. I’ve used “Superpro designer” software for economical evaluation and determining the possibility of this practice for industrial applications. Beside the tomato paste factory, the process includes one unit of Lycopene production. In addition to Lycopene production, it is possible to produce fertilizer from residues and using them as livestock food or producing energy for the output...

Improving the Remediation Process of Asphaltene Deposits in the Well Facility of Koupal-Bangestan Oil Reservoir

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bagherian, Mahmood (Author) ; Ayatollahi, Shahaboddin (Supervisor) ; Ghotbi, Cyrus (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Crude oil production could cause the thermodynamic equilibrium of the crude oil to be disturbed in the well column which results in asphaltene precipitation and deposition. The thickness of the deposited material grows over time until it completely blocks the well column.Due to the hard and insoluble nature of deposited asphaltene, the two main chemical and mechanical methods are found to be more effective. It should be noted that the actual organic sediments in the piping are not pure and consist of three components: asphaltene, resin and paraffin. Therefore, it is very important to know the composition of the deposited material before selecting the appropriate chemical solvent. The samples...
