Energy Policy in the Buildings: Provide Policies to Improve Energy Intensity in the Building Sector
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; maleki, Abbas (Supervisor)
Abstract
Energy efficiency for Iran, which has large reserves of oil and gas but also has a high energy consumption is important because it ensures the country's energy security and saving each energy unit creates energy exports opportunity. Buildings have high energy saving potential; this sector uses about thirty percent of energy consumption (about half the gas and thirty percent of the annual electricity consumption). Households are not motivated in saving energy because government pays energy subsidy. In this research building energy consumption (in Tehran) modeled by bottom up approach. Then the effect of economic incentive tools such as subsidy, loan and tax on motivation in energy saving...
Innovative Financing Scheme for Repair and Rehabilitation of Critical Infrastructures Systems
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Haj Kazem Kashani, Hamed (Supervisor)
Abstract
The aim of this research is to examine and propose solutions for financing projects aimed at reducing vulnerability in the oil industry's infrastructure against earthquakes and enhancing their seismic resilience. Design and construction issues, as well as the gradual deterioration of oil infrastructure, increase their vulnerability to earthquakes. Earthquakes can disrupt the proper and continuous functioning of these infrastructures by causing damage. Such disruptions or interruptions in the performance of oil industry infrastructure can have significant economic and social consequences. To mitigate these damages, investment in vulnerability reduction measures is essential. Financing...
