Measuring the Innovation Capacity in the Firm Level, Introducing Attributes and Instrument

  8. In this dissertation، with regard of the importance of innovation and being innovative in the competitive conditions of the markets in the world، and the need of companies for some permanent competitive advantages، we are looking for some models and finding or creating some instruments to know and create knowledge for basics of innovation and innovation capacity before measuring the outputs of innovative projects، as innovation capability، and have the needed knowledge for managing resources and having the intransitive tendency to important factors that crystallize the structure of innovation capacity. For this purpose، we had a vast literature review with reading so many books about innovation management، studying a lot of lectures and papers about innovation and specially innovation capacity، and using the directions and viewpoints of some researchers of innovation in French and their findings، we found the viewpoints of writers and researchers in innovation and definitions and idea’s about innovation capacity and differences of measuring methods and meanings of it and innovation capability. Then we created an instrument that was questionnaire to test and measure the 13 attributes of our selected model for innovation capacity and measure it in industrial automation industry by the method of Factor Analysis with the use of Spss software. The questionnaire was sent for the CEO’s of the companies in target group and after collecting the answers the analysis was done. The results supported the questionnaire and gave us some feedbacks about the used model for the studied industry، in our developing country. On the base of results we can assume the innovation capacity with seven attributes that support the 29 questions of the used questionnaire.
