- Abstract:
- Considering the daily growth of industries in international market competition and the necessity of investment in related infrastructure development, determining the priority of industries in order to strengthen or support of these industries, seems as an inevitable issue, so for the purpose of making proper decisions in an optimum way, we must use scientific decision making methods. This study evaluates the priority of industries in Iran and comparison of them. Therefore, according to the international standard classification of economic activities (ISIC), two-digit and four-digit codes are specified for each industry. In addition, based on major economic indicators, the status of these subcategories are compared and analyzed. In order to analyze these subcategories, two different multiple criterion decision making methods - AHP and TOPSIS -are used. Finally the obtained ranking results of these methods are validated, and the Kendall/Spearman non-parametric correlation of them are evaluated and compared. In spite of this assumption, different industries and also different products in industries might have different priorities in Iran, and considering seven major economic indicators including export value, import value, input value, output value, added value, fixed capital formation and job creation, and finally using two multiple criterion decision making approaches - AHP and TOPSIS -, this study provides an appropriate infrastructure to make strategic decision through different levels of industry.
