- Abstract:
- Recent advances in miniaturization and low power design have led to a flurry of activity in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Sensor networks have different constraints than traditional wired networks. A wireless sensor network is a special network with large numbers of nodes equipped with embedded processors, sensors, and radios. These nodes collaborate to accomplish a common task such as environment monitoring or asset tracking. Many of these applications interface with real world environments and delivery of data is subject to certain constraints. So It is often necessary for communication to meet real-time constraints. Most existing real-time protocols don’t use packet scheduling schemes and only spot routing problem in wireless sensor networks. Also existing soft real-time scheduling protocols in WSNs don’t pay attention to the accrued utility of packets in network, wheras increasing utility is the most important object of scheduling in soft real-time systems. In this dissertation we try to present a soft real-time scheduling protocol that its main goal is increasing utility in the network. In the proposed protocol we scheduled the packets to increase the utility of received packets. The simulation results suggest remarkable improvement in utility for the proposed protocol in comparison with other existing protocols and it’s consumed energy dosen’t increase in comparison with other existing protocols.
