  7. Abstract:
  8. In this thesis, behavior of multiple pool fires was investigated in the numerical method. Fire modeling is a complex process. The complexity intensify when simultaneous fires occurred, pool fire is the most likely among all kind of fires in city and industrial units. FDS software, a common CFD model for fire simulation, was used to simulate multiple pool fires. Using of CFD models is one of the most advanced techniques to fire simulation and FDS software have been used by engineers and researchers due to using of this technique. In the beginning, review of the existing investigations which FDS performance was examined of fire simulation is presented. Besides of the data gathering, in this work, FDS performance separately was studied in pool fire simulation and modelling. This assessment showed, the FDS software can predict physical quantities such as velocity and mass burning rate and temperature to an accuracy of 5 to 20% for simulations that involve simple mass and heat transfer. In this study, simultaneous fire scenario in adjacent fuel tanks is investigated as the main goal. Fire influence in fire propagation and fire dynamic on adjacent fires was investigated. Heat Release Rate, Temprature and velocities as main outputs of simulation was given. Base on simulation results, adjacent fires in multiple fires decrease amount of mass burning rate and height pool fire. Radiation energy which was received from multiple fires to point’s that obtained their damage, amount of radiation energy received to tnaks in several occasions was studied.
