- Abstract:
- The problem of science-religion relation is considered here, considering realism and the cognitive status of religious statements and accepting the existence of common issues between science and religion. Different approaches have been adopted to explain this relation. One of the approaches which have been proposed in recent years has been the issue of religious science, which is considered to solve incompatible issues between science and religion. The possibility of religious science is one of the important problems that have attracted the mind of some Muslim scholars and some devoted Muslims. Some motivation could be mentioned for bringing in this issue, like the removal of conflict between scientific statements and religious statements and the fact that present science has become very secular. The study of the possibility or impossibility of religious science, the inspection of its claims, and the evaluation of the ways to accomplish this goal is a major concern of some of our religiously committed scientists at the present time. This has been attempted in this thesis and we are about reviewing some the attempts made in this direction. It is seen that the way to handle this problem is very much correlated with the way theoreticians see the relation between science and religion scientifically, philosophically and theologically. Here we have done this assessment from theological point of view
