  7. Abstract:
  8. Women are going to play more important roles in the economy of most countries including Iran. Hence, since the number of entrepreneurs among women is increasing, identifying characteristics and other factors that cause these group to be successful, is a critical issue. Studies show that entrepreneurs, especially women entrepreneurs, face numerous problems in their career. These problems are especially more demanding in societies with unique cultural attributes. Therefore, applying personal and managerial solutions in order to overcome these problems are necessary. On the other hand, researchers believe that one of the most effective and beneficial concepts helping entrepreneurs in their business is self-leadership. Selfleadership is a process through which individuals control their own behavior, influencing and leading themselves through the use of specific sets of behavioral and cognitive strategies. Based on these facts, in this research, self-leadership strategies applied by Iranian entrepreneur women are identified and classified. This is a qualitative research and its data are obtained through semi structured interviews. These data are analyzed based on the open coding style. Results show that a part of self leadership strategies that are used by Iranian entrepreneur women are found in literature, however, some of them are completely new. “Focusing on the failure consequences” and “increasing self morality” are two examples of new strategies. It can be said that cultural and gender factors of research sample as well as the interaction of these two, justify the emergence of new strategies. In addition to this, it seems that cultural and gender factors can also affect the type of goals or beliefs of people. These effects can be discussed in relation to some posed strategies in the literature of self leadership such as self goal setting or referring to constructive beliefs
