  7. Abstract:
  8. Excavation of metro tunnel beneath groundwater level causes disturbance of hydro geological balance and change in stress conditions at its environment. One of the usual methods of the tunnel construction is utilizing tunnel boring machine and one of the most important of them is called TBM-EPB which takes advantage of the earth pressure balance method. Control of surface settlements which is a result of creating underground space in urban area is a matter of great importance and is influenced by various parameters. This thesis has tried to investigate factors such as geotechnical properties among cohesion, internal friction angle, elasticity modulus, permeability and porosity and also geometrical and loading characteristics among tunnel depth, surface loads, underground water level and tunnel advance rate. Effects of these factors are determined and interpreted on pore water pressure, stresses and settlements of around of tunnel environment and also stresses, axial and shear forces and bending moments of various sections of concrete lining. With the purpose of performing this study, with cooperation of Khatam-ol-Anbia Corporation and Hara institution, utilized geotechnical data, geometrical information of tunnel and technical characteristic of TBM that used in east-west section of line 7 of Tehran’s subway. For numerical analysis of three-dimensional consolidation and simultaneous solving of stress-seepage equations, Abaqus-6.9.1 was used. Constitutive model for soil is Mohr-Coulomb plasticity and for concrete is linear elastic. Applicable results achieved from effects of mentioned factors on surface settlements, stresses and displacements of environs soil and lining of tunnel. Comparison of these results shows that some factors such as permeability coefficient and position of groundwater table level are more effective on surface settlements than other factors. At the end, amount of these effects have been illustrated in results
