- Abstract:
- Continuous variation of electrical loads in the power grid results in fluctuations of voltage frequency and. Accordingly, the need to the dynamic stability of the power grid would necessitates a constant balance between the production and consumption rates of electric power. In the same vein, given the launch of Bushehr nuclear power plant and its connection to the national electricity network, an investigation of the power plant’s capabilities in changing the produced power seems to be an important necessity.
Therefore, modeling the Bushehr reactor core in the DynCo code, the present thesis is aimed at investigating the reactor behavior during the power change periods with the transition of control rods group 10, boric concentration change, and keeping the AO within the range of ± 5 %. However, given the limitations of the current version of the DynCo code and the inaccessibility to the power plant exploitation instructions, a full and precise examination of the power plant’s load following is impossible and therefore, the obtained results are only accountable in case of power level reduction. The present study reveals that, in order to raise the power change rate in the reactor, there is also a need to increase the boric concentration change rate. Therefore, to alter the reactor power at a rate of 3% Pn/min, it is necessary to change the boric concentration at a minimum rate of 0.0002 g/kg.sec, while for a change in the reactor power at 7% Pn/min, the required minimum boric concentration change rate will be 0.0003 g/kg.sec - Keywords:
