  8. Technology advancement in feilds of wireless communication and energy-efficient designs also more tendencies toward applicable low price devices lead to emergence of a very popular type of networks named Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). WSNs have multiple applications in different areas such as military, spying, medical, surveilance, traffic control, security, robotic, data accumulation from dangreous areas, intelligent houses and etc. Most WSN applications are in harsh and unreliable environments, hence there are some challenges to provide a reliable connection in this kind of networks, especially as they are infrustructueless, autonoms and distributed using traditional methods may not lead to . One of the most important challenges is energy of nodes. WSN nodes use batteries hence have limited amount of energy and the network itself has limited lifetime. Another challenge is networks' capacity which is limeted, therefore it's not possible to introduce too much redundancy to the network to keep it reliable. One of the most effective solutions to cope with these challengea is, in network processing of data using network coding technique. Other advantages of this technique are increasing throughput and decreasing energy consumption. In this thesis a new network coding aware routing algorithm will be suggested that will improve reliability and robustness of network and also has efficient battery usage. The proposed algorithm uses neighbors queue length as a coding awareness metric and also it uses a structure-free routing scheme which makes it so robust against environment noise and node failures. To the best of our knowledge this is the first coding aware routing algorithm deisigned particularly for WSNs. Simulation results demonstrate that S-NC can make 30% improvement in reliability. It aslo make 40% reduction in enrgy consumption and end to end delay . Results are compared to SenseCode algorithm, best known network coding based routnig algorithm designed for WSNs
