- The dynamic behavior of beams and rectangular plates on elastic foundation under the effect of deterministic and random excitations is investigated in the cases of controlled and uncontrolled systems. The equations of motion are developed in each case in both deterministic and stochastic states. In all cases, the eigenfunction expansion method is used to solve the obtained equations.Moreover, the classical linear optimal control algorithm with displacement-velocity is considered to achieve the required control efforts. The applied dynamic excitations are supposed as moving loads, moving masses accompanied with random lateral excitations of supports and the uniform distributed linear loading with random amplitude. The results of analyzing the beams on elastic foundation under a moving vehicle and seismic lateral excitations of supports clarify the importance of earthquake effects on the behavior of the beam. Additionally, the effect of random excitations on the plates supported with elastic foundation is more than the effect of deterministic excitations with a determined frequency. Moreover, another result for the beams analysis is related to the frequency variation of beams under the effect of travelling mass which affects the resonant frequencies of the system against seismic excitations. Applying control forces to the mentioned structures results in decreasing the dynamic responses of the systems to an arbitrary level and assures keeping the structural behavior in linear limit. Finally, the stochastic control algorithm is applied to evaluate the functionality of the control system against the random excitations. Consequently, the stochastic calculus is utilized in order to develop and solve those equations
