- Abstract:
- Proficient management of Supply Chain (SC) necessitates an efficient evaluation of SC performance. This highlights cardinal role of performance measurement in management of SC. However, SC has multidisciplinary nature in its wide spectrum of activities including planning, control and coordination of intra- and inter-firm players from upstream suppliers to downstream customers. As such, performance measurement of SC is a quite complex task and an effective assessment can significantly help enterprises in achieving their business goals. Objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive structural framework to facilitate assessment of various aspects contributing on SC performance. Specifically, we identify relation between functional related activities and activities within different stages of SC, at different levels of hierarchy. Such a framework can be employed by SC managers to identify influential activities having indirectly substantial impact on SC performance. As a test case, the framework is applied to one of the largest dairy firms in the country with a complex network of stages and activities. The analysis of collected data through distributed questionnaire suggests that activities related to finance has the most influential impact on SC performance, while human resource having the least influence
