  7. Abstract:
  8. in the project of Shiraz Metro Line 2, one of the busiest and most popular areas is the distance between Mianrood Street up to Imam Hussein Square where Includes historical, commercial and tourism contexture. So the west to east line of Shiraz metro is under construction. In some cases, the ground water level is higher than tunnel crown level. To prevent probable problems, the TBM machine will work in EPB mode. The twin Tunnel of Shiraz Urban Railway system is constructed in soil medium that consists of clay and silt. Tunnel excavation diameter is 6.88 meters and when lining is replaced by pieces of concrete the diameter will reduce to 6 meters. The distance between two tunnels will change in the range of 9 to 14 meters. Most times, constructing tunnels adjacent to each other and also build a new tunnel near the previous tunnel occurs in urban areas. At this condition, the effects of new tunnel construction on increase of surface settlements and stress on the tunnel lining should be considered and, if necessary, the amount of the settlement should be controlled. If the underground structure affected by a new adjacent tunnel construction, repairing of damage would be time consuming and costly, therefore it to evaluating of the interaction of twin tunnels is necessary and is of utmost importance. To analyze these problems, with respecting to the ability of model processing and parameters change during program execution, ABAQUS software has been used. With respecting to the results of the analysis of twin tunnel construction, when a second tunnel is excavated parallel to the first tunnel, special Provisions should be considered where a tunnel concrete lining at the crown and bottom exposed to tension stresses. For this purpose, Factors such as the distance between the tunnels, overburden, underground water level changes, time delay, the traffic load, the high buildings in the vicinity of the tunnel and the soil profile exist between the two tunnels was measured .By correct choice of these parameters, the effect of Construction of a new tunnel on surface settlements and stresses imposed on the tunnel lining could be minimized. In this study, Complexity is the reciprocating interactions of adjacent underground structures, in a manner that by changing the soil characteristics and other effective parameters, considerable difference in surface settlement and stresses on the concrete lining can be seen that indicates the major impact of different parameters on the mechanism of interaction
