  8. Recent developments in space industry and the great tendency for definition of efficient, precise and low cost missions are the main reasons for the growing interest in satellites formation flight. Regarding the aforementioned, the study of the multiple satellite control methods is the subject of the present project. In this project, the governing equations of motion of satellite formation flight are developed. Based on this development, it is shown that the satellite linear equations of motion like many other linear system presentations, can not sufficiently model the real system. Therefore, some of the most famous uncertainties in space dynamics such as semimajor axis and eccentricity changes are modeled and added to the classical equations. Furthermore, for realization of control process some disturbance effects like j2 and drag acceleration which are resulted in asymmetrical shape of the earth and low density atmosphere in high altitude are modeled and added in the equations. The measuring unit errors and the uncertainty in the actuator modeling are also considered. In the next step, a robust controller that guarantees some of control performance characteristics like stability, tracking, disturbance and noise rejection in the presence of uncertainties is designed. For evaluating the designed controller, many computer simulations are carried out, implementing nonlinear equations and all uncertainties and disturbances. The performance of the designed controller in formation keeping for both cases of single or multiple satellites flight is shown.
