  7. Abstract:
  8. The Brushless Doubly Fed Machine (BDFM) has the potential to be employed either as a motor in drive application or as a generator in variable wind power applications. The Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) is, currently, the main generator used for wind power applications while it suffers from the existence of slip-ring and brushes. The BDFM can potentially achieve the characteristics such as those of the DFIG while it benefits from the brushless operation.
The dynamic behavior and transient states of BDFM must be analyze so that it can be a rival for DFIG in wind power application and improvement of their behavior under faults. Due to brushless configuration of BDFM, the losses are lower and the robustness is more than DFIG. These advantages have caused to more researches on this machines.
Unpredicted faults in grid have led to the researchers do researches seriously more than before. As we know, many faults are unsymmetrical faults and symmetrical faults are less than. So, this thesis has been done for analysis of dynamic behavior of BDFM under unsymmetrical faults and represents a new dynamic model for machine on these faults. For verifying of mathematical dynamic model the simulation has been presented in MATLAB/Simulink software. By comparison of control winding (CW) current, we investigate the dynamic behavior of BDFM under symmetrical and unsymmetrical faults then get the worst type of fault for machine
