- Abstract:
- Risk is an uncertain event or condition that, if it occurs, has a positive or negative effect on a project’s objectives. Identification and assessment of risk in a measurable way are so important for project managers to decide better. This thesis studies how to identify and assess the project’s risks in Fishery industry based on the Project management body of knowledge (PMBOK 2008) as a global standard. Constructing an aquaculture site in Abadan city has some risks which are identified in the first steps of the study and in the following steps these risks will be prioritized by the use of qualitative analysis and figured out which risks have major effects on projects objectives. In last step of assessing the project’s risks, high risks were measured in quantitative way by using expected monetary value (EMV) technique, decision tree analysis and sensitivity analysis of economical information. Results of qualitative assessment of the project’s risk showed that unsuitable planning, over sight to quality of water and using non-experts in the project have major effect on project objectives (cost, time, quality and scope), to unsuitable planning and over sight to quality of water due to using non-experts in the project, using non-experts in the project as the most important risk analyzed in quantitative way. Results of quantitative assessment of the case study illustrated by using expert in the project has more benefit in spite of higher salary than using non-expert in the project
