  7. Abstract:
  8. Introducing a new paradigm, cognitive radio, for spectrum utilization of unlicensed users, new research on spectrum utilization of licensed users was planned. The results show inefficiency of spectrum usage, so cognitive radio network was introduced. Cognitive radio network should not have any affect on primary users activity, so these networks face with some chalenges and the important ones is the supporting of the QoS.
In this thesis after analyzing of the proposed routing metrics for finding best end-to-end path, the important ones of them were selected for more precise analyzing. After analyzing we find some disadvantage, can be improved by multi-radio. Although all of these metrics don't solve the QoS problem, so we proposed a novel metric that uses effective bandwidth and QoS exponent (ϑ). In addition in this metric, all channels of cognitive radio network was modeled by effective capacity and there is an admission control, a mechanism for permitting to a new flow for generating traffic based on queue analysis of every node, and available resources of the network. Permitting and reserving resources for each flow is one of the best solutions in the networks which want to gurantee a level of QoS. In our thesis we have shown this mechanism can significantly improve the success of flow traffics in delay sensitive networks. One special feature of this thesis is verification of our claims by NS3 network simulator, which one of its feature is the precise and closeness of its models to the reality
