- Competitive pressures force manufacturers to continuously improve the provision of products and associated services desired by customers. One of the most comparative industries in the world is automotive industry. Since the advent, these industries have tried to use new tools for better management. So, tools such as lean production were developed in these industries. The lean production was considered by many productive industries. The TOYOTA Company which is now one of the giant car makers implements well the lean production. More or less the Iranian automotive industries have also considered this parameter. One of these Iranian industries is Iran khodro Company. As many competitors adopted these practices, some competitive advantage was lost. Many manufacturers now have begun adopting practices that increase their ability to rapidly respond to changes in customer demand. For these, superior responsiveness has become a key to competitive advantage. In short, many manufacturing firms are becoming relatively more agile. Agile manufacturing along with lean production can significantly enhances the quality of product alongside price reduction. Since agile manufacturing is closely related to lean one and In many studies, when is talking about lean manufacturing, agility is also mentioned, several studies have focused on the impact of these two parameters on indicators such as efficiency, competitiveness and so on. This study surveyed these two tools simultaneously. The used method is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) which is used to survey the causality relations. The impact of lean production and agile manufacturing on the operation performance were assessed finally and the best parameters which in fact are the most effective one were determined to be the pattern for the companies that are still in the beginning and want to choose the most efficient way and implement both the lean and agility. The impact of lean production was 0.25 and impact of agility on operational performance waz 0.75. Moreover direct relation between leanness and agility was not accepted because of low index of competitive model. Low number of automotive companies lead to low credit of this research and this was one of restrictions of this research
