  7. Abstract:
  8. An on-line solid phase extraction (SPE) method coupled with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was developed using electrospun polyamide (PA) nanofibers as the extractin medium for trace determination of clodinafop propargyl herbicide in environmental aqueous samples. The sufficient numbers of disc sheets were cut from the electrospun PA mat and used as packing material in a cartridge. The homogeneity and the porosity of the prepared PA sheet were studied using the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the observed nanofiber diameters and lengths proved that the prepared sorbent possess a high aspect ratio. Major parameters affecting the extraction efficiency were optimized. The limits of detection (S/N = 3) and limits of quantification (S/N = 10) under optimized conditions were 2.0 and 6.0 μg L−1 respectivly, and relative standard adition percentage (RSD%) for three replicates of 25 μg L−1 clodinafop propargyl was 5.8%. The linearity of calibration curve was between 6-700 μg L−1 with acceptable correlation coefficient (R2 = 0.9996). With a sample loading flow rate of 4 mL min−1 for 20 min, an enhrichment factor of 440 was achieved. The method was applied to the determination of clodinafop propargyl in paddy water, river water, wheat, and soil samples. The results indicated that electrospun PA is a viable material for enrichment and determination of clodinafop propargyl in environmental water, wheat and soil samples
