  8. Renewable energy sources have significantly used in recent years and the associated technologies have been widely developed. Grid connection of most renewable technologies, such as photovoltaic and wind turbine, is accomplished using power electronic converters. Control of injected active and reactive power as well as current and frequency control of is, so, implemented through the power converter. Inverter is among the equipments widely used for grid connection The purpose of this project was to design and develop an inverter for grid connection of renewable generation technologies for laboratory use. The inverter is aimed to control both injected active and reactive power. A full-bridge configuration is used for the power unit with 600 W capacity. Control unit includes a current controller for determine the amount of active and reactive power injected to the grid. The Proportional - Resonant (PR) controller is used to control the injected current. Reference current determine by the vertical and parallel components of the grid voltage obtained from Phase Locked Loop (PLL). LCL filter is used for comply the harmonic current injection with IEEE1547 standard requirements. Design evaluation and verification of dynamic stability of the control loop is assured using MATLAB/SIMULINK simulation for both static and dynamic conditions. DSP TMS320F28335 processor is used to implement control loop and PLL. Laboratory setup is also developed at Sharif Energy Research Institute where final development of the inverter and operation tests have been also conducted.
