- Abstract:
- Environmental review, surveying land resources and the military mission requires high resolution imaging of large areas. in many cases, imaging should be performed during the night or in poor weather. Synthetic Aperture Radars (SAR)using long range propagation characteristics of radar signals and the complex information processing capability of modern digital electronics to provide high resolution image. The radar complements photographic and optical imaging capabilities because of them does not the time constraints, work and the weather. one of the most important methods for the extraction of synthetic aperture radar images by the method of imaging is the SPECAN algorithm. an important advantage of this method is less computational imaging and the calculation is online. this algorithm consists of different processing blocks. some of the blocks such as azimuth FFT, RCMC and storing data at each stage requires large hardware. the main objective of this thesis is to implement this approach on FPGA hardware is of Virtex4. the hardware resource and too many computing constraint can make the implementation of this method is impractical in the terms of hardware. but The method has been used for implementation of different block that Computing resources greatly reduces and the work is easily implemented in hardware. one the most important thechniques in implement azimuth FFT that hardware volume is reduced by half. the other thechniques used in the design of controllers for the stored data is processed at different stages. range compression in order to reduce the computational resources used. to reduce the calculation error and improve the precision of inter RCMC block is used to access the implementation is very simple
