  7. Abstract:
  8. Since today graphs have many applications in different sciences including computer networks, in this thesis a number of graphs which have been widely used in computer networks, are studied. The graphs presented in this thesis are hypercubes, generalized hypercubes (Bhuyan and grawal, 1984), balanced hypercubes (Huang and Jie, 1992) and the star graphs (Sheldon and Akers, 1987), which are the generalization of the hypercubes and have similar properties. In general the graph which is considered for computer networks as an interconnection structure, should have small degrees of vertices, a small diameter, and a large number of paths between any two vertices. Thus in our studies these three roperties of graphs are very important. In this thesis, both published papers in this field with the titles ” The edge product of networks and Resource placement in the edge product of graphs” have been mentioned. In each of these graphs, definition, important properties and a sample of its application in computer networks are mentioned. In addition to introducing these graphs, an edge product of two graphs which by Sarbazi-Azad and Jalali introduced in 2007, has been mentioned, which can be very useful in computer networks. The properties of the edge product and a sample of its application are expressed. In addition, some properties including the vertex chromatic number, being vertex pancyclic and tree properties have been surveyed
