  7. Abstract:
  8. High speed crafts due to their design, geometry, one of the parameters to improve the performance of hydrodynamic elements such as trim tabs, bow thruster, steps and Spray rails.Step is an element which change height of bottom and due to reduce wetted area and extra lift and finally cause to improve drag of vessel. In this thesis we have evaluated numerically and compared with experimental tests on planning crafts in calm water and waves, and the effects on the motions of floating and drag floating are compared.Numerical analysis is conducted to help Ansys.CFX software. First, to provide 2D modeling and analyzing real-bodies floating in calm water and waves with simple, step-paid. The numerical and experimental results are compared. Geometry of spray rails are shaped blade that is built around a floating body. Body fluid due to the spines prevent excessive splashing fluid around the body and By producing lift force between the fluid levels and therefore reduce drag is reduced wet. The experimental part of the thesis examines the impact of these elements on hover and move quickly in the spray fluid around the body and to compare the results of explains. Finally in this project by modeling stepped hull planning and spray rails try to analysis response and resistance of this kind of planning hulls in calm water and validate by experimental tests. Regarding to this issue that numerical simulations are related to prototype, it causes to optimized design this kind of vessel
