- Abstract:
- The 60 GHz high speed technology, is the interesting category in network world nowadays. In this study, we consider one of the 60 GHz technologies as it is called WiGig. WiGig works under IEEE802.11ad standard, one of the WLAN standards that works at 60 GHz frequency band. We have surveyed the total MAC and physical layer of this standard to find the way to enhance the MAC protocol. This MAC protocol is applying the CSMA/CA and TDMA methods to access the channel. We have applied the CSMA/CA in our thesis that is a contention based access method. We found that with this method our network is not fair. Since there are not any studies about the value of Fairness in this standard, we concentrate on this issue in this standard. When STAs don't have equal probability to achieve the medium, the network will be unfair. This situation, when occurs that some STAs are suffering from deafness problem. We considered the different QO level to avoid this problem. We simulated different QO level to achieve the different values of fairness in the network. Our results show the fairness increases up to 99 percent as compared with traditional IEEE802.11ad, and while the network is in congestion situation, the fairness still remains about99 percent

- We have considered, Data transmission time consists of CBAPs. So, all STAs must contend to access the medium. We have obtained the BTI and A-BFT periods from two previous sections. As we consider the BI is equal to 0.1 second, the DTI periods are obta...

- In the figure 4-2, we present the environment of our works. As shown the PCP is in the middle of the circle and the STAs have distributed randomly around it. In IEEE802.11ad the transmitter antenna is directional antenna and the receiver antenna is Qu...
