- Abstract:
- Environmental pollution and depleting the resources of energy are two significant crises which has been caused by excessive Energy consumption in all over the world. One of the most appropriate and reproducible energies is the Biogas energy. Huge amount of sewages and dry wastes are produced in cities every day can causes devastated damages to environment. All types organic matter extracted from different processes of treating sewages are influenced by germ activities and will be transformed to mineral structures and the final product of these reactions would be gases which can be used as enormous sources of fuel and energy. There are different devices made all over the world to be utilized for collecting biogas from wastewater treatment processes. Polyethylene geomembrane, particularly HDPE is gaining widespread popularity as a sealing system in cover and bottom liner system of sludge and wastewater facilities, anaerobic/aerobic treatment ponds and evaporation ponds in animal waste facilities, etc. A HDPE floating cover system provides a more cost-effective alternative to steel or concrete storage containers. In this study the importance of collecting the biogas and different methods for this purpose (specially utilizing geomembrane cover) are investigated. Although using Biogas is in its beginning steps in Iran, increasing costs of energy causes using fossilized fuel (gas oil and kerosene) not to be economic and in practice (in all over the world) the fossilized fuels have been banned and livestock industry has been oriented to Biogas, wind energy and solar energy. It can be noted that lagoons are the best choice in case of available land and almost moderate weather conditions. AHP model was carried to achieve this goal and the results showed that anaerobic lagoons are the best option
