- Abstract:
- In this project, production of nano and micro particles with laser ablation of zinc, silver and copper sheet metals in the liquid medium has been experimentally studied. For this aim, homemade Nd:YAG pulsed laser at 1064nm wavelength, 60μs pulses with excellent stability with energies up to 700mj is used. By changing the pulse intensity on the target surface, the parameters such as size, shape and optical properties of nano and micro particles are studied by UV-visible spectroscopy, DLS, and SEM techniques. In this work, by microsecond pulses of Nd:YAG and using measuring devices such as Coherent power /energy meter, the appropriate optical table, the related experiments are implemented. Furthermore, with Q switching and achieving nanosecond laser pulses, two samples are produced and their properties are also studied by using uv-vis spectroscopy and SEM technique. Finally, the obtained results by nanosecond pulses are compared with the experimental results by microsecond laser. It should be realized that the produced nano and micro particles have special features and applications such as optoelectronics, biomedicine and the sensors. The generated particles by ablation of Zn are in form of discs of 3μm and cubes of half a micrometer. In this research work it is noticed that the variety of forms and sizes are more in Silver in comparison to the others. Using μs pulses from Nd:YAG laser spherical particles with diameters of about 0.5-1.0 μm and cubes with diameter of 5μm are produced. Furthermore, by using ns pulses from Q switched Nd:YAG laser bunches of nanometer plates are generated. . In the case of copper, nano rods with diameter of and spherical particles with diameter of approximately 700nm are produced by using μs and ns pulses respectively
