- Abstract:
- The investigation of the behavior of structures subjected to various kinds of loadings is of considerable importance. In this research, an attempt was made to analyze behavior of beams that a load is moving on them. Most of the existing relevant works in this field are dealt with examination of elastic beams with constant section, while in most cases beams with variable sections are used in order to have the optimum structure and appropriate stress distribution and to maximize strength to weight or cost ratio. While construct analysis is very advantageous, it is very difficult due to the complexities arising from the variable sections. But this design is so advantageous that it dominates analysis costs and leads to investigations like the present one.In this research, response of the beam with constant and variable sections to concentrated loads such as force and mass is examined. Results for constant section are compared to an analytical method to confirm their validity, and thus we ensured validity of the method and computer program. The beam is considered with Euler-Bernoulli assumption and it is assumed that the load has constant speed along the beam and it keeps contact with the beam unless it reaches the other end.
Dynamic equation of the beam which is resulted from Newton's second law and Euler-Bernoulli assumption is derived for variable sections for various loading, and then the problem converts to finite difference by considering relevant boundary conditions. Then, the equation is solved using Newmark β method and by considering initial conditions and beam response is obtained since the load enters the beam from one end and exits it from another end. Finally, we have discussed neural networks. In this section, we trained the mentioned neural network with regard to results produced from structure analysis – which were discussed – and then we used this trained network to find the beam response to loading. In this chapter, we talked about formation process and history of neural networks briefly - Keywords:
