- Abstract:
- By the use of flexible substrates like metal foils and meshes and plastic ones, fabrication of flexible dye sensitized solar cells are possible. Flexible dye sensitized solar cell, not only is utilized in portable, light electronic devices, but is also conductive to industrial roll to roll fabrication which enables the implementation of high throughput production lines and its associated potential reduction in manufacturing costs. This thesis has concentrated on fabrication of flexible dye sensitized solar cells by use of stainless steel mesh as substrate of photo-anode, because of its satisfying stability in electrolyte, flexibility, transparency and low cost. In this research, an efficient blocking layer was provided for reduction of recombination rate and increase of mesoporous TiO2 layer adhesion on the substrate. Two different way were utilized for deposition of mesoporous layer on mesh substrate, Dr. Blade by TiO2 paste and Electrophoresis by TiO2 charged solution. Moreover, in order to fabrication of a cathode without using FTO, graphene ink which is synthesized in Sharif Solar Company, was deposited on glass. Consequently, the highest efficiency of a dye solar cell with stainless steel substrate, which was fabricated during this research is 2% and the highest efficiency of a dye solar cell with graphene cathode is 2.67%
