  7. Abstract:
  8. In recent years lithium-air batteries captured worldwide attention because of their high energy density. Solid state electrolytes is one of the main components of lithium-air batteries. Lithium almunium titanium phosphate(LATP) is a nasicon type ion conduction which may be of great potential as solid electrolyte. The object of this thesis was the preparation of LATP solid electrolyte which can be used in a lithium-air battery. To reach this goal LATP powder was synthesized using a solution-based method and an appropriate crystallization temperature was selected based on obtained results of X-ray diffraction analysis. In the next step solid electrolytes was prepared under different pressing pressure, sintering temperature and soaking time to investigate the effect of these factors on ionic conductivity of solid electrolyte. Design of experiment was used for this purpose. The results indicated that LATP powder synthesized purely at 800℃ was a suitable candidate for solid electrolyte with respect to crystallization. Analysis of variances showed that interaction effect of soaking time-pressure had the most significant influence on ionic conductivity. Interaction effect of sintering temperature-soaking time-pressure, soaking time and pressure were also assessed to be significant. Highest conductivity of 2.38 × 10-4 S.cm-1 obtained for sample pressed at 50 Mpa and sintered at 800 ℃ for 12 hours
