  8. Nowadays millimeter wave imaging technology has found various applications in industry, medical and security systems. From one side the capability of penetration of this frequency spectrum into non-metal objects, and being harmless to humankind on the other side, has made this spectrum an appropriate alternative instead of dangerous spectrums such as X-ray. Recently, development of millimeter wave electronic circuits and antenna arrays has made the optimal design and implementation of millimeter wave imaging systems feasible. Among actions which have been taken in industry, medical and security systems until now, we can refer to efforts for detection of defects in production line, recognition of fracture in constructions, diagnosis of breast cancer and recognition of concealed weapon. Objective of this project is to design and implement millimeter wave imaging system based on frequency scanning antenna. Current imaging systems are using linear antenna arrays which are mechanically scanning the object in one direction and electronically in the other direction. Electronic scanning in these systems is done by switching the antennas. In the frequency scanning method by changing the frequency, antenna beam is rotated and the object is being scanned. The advantages of this method are its higher speed and its less expensive implementation rather than current systems. Steps which have been expected for this project are as follows: 1. Deriving the appropriate electromagnetic relations to connect recorded hologram and object’s structure and also derivation of image reconstruction algorithm. 2. Simulation of system and performing reconstruction algorithm for the assurance of validity of relations and its functionality and improving algorithm to enhance the resolution of system
