  7. Abstract:
  8. Nowdays, because of the promotion and developments of Information technology (IT) and the need for powerful resources for computation and storage, we are the witness of migration from existing computing schemes to the cloud computing and cloud storage environment. As a result, we can see that the client and the IT users are the beneficiaries of the services which are provided by the existing cloud providers. However, the cloud providers are not usually fully trusted and we need to protect the privacy of our sensitive documents. In this case, we should use cryptographic primitives to encrypt our data before outsourcing to the cloud. Searchable encryption and attribute based encryption are two most interesting topics for preserving the privacy of the users in the cloud based enviroments. By means of this primitives, the data owners can store and share their own files without any information leakage. Attribute based keyword search is a new cryptographic primitive that uses features of searchable encryption and attribute based encryption simultaneously. In this thesis, we have proposed three different attribute based keyword search schemes. The first scheme is used for sieving the search results which is shown to be provably secure against chosen keyword attack. The second one has been proposed for withstanding keyword guessing attack. The last scheme is suitable for electronic voting which fulfils security essentials that is correctness, privacy, verifiability, robustness, democracy and fairness. All of the schemes enjoy reasonable efficiency compairing with the previously proposed schemes
