  7. Abstract:
  8. The purpose of this study is extracting a dynamic model of longitudinal motions of high speed catamaran in regular and irregular waves, and then motion control of vessels by using of foil control elements and interceptor. For simulating longitudinal motions in regular waves, at first the longitudinal hydrodynamic coefficients of vessels should be extracted, then by substituting extracted coefficients in cumminz equation and using system identification methods, some equations are presented to estimate longitudinal two degree of freedom motions of high speed catamaran in waves. In this thesis the extraction of hydrodynamic coefficients is based on both numerical and experimental methods. ANSYS software is used for numerical computation and for experimental analysis a mechanism is designed and made.Designed mechanism can extract hydrodynamic coefficients, stiffness coefficient, lift force and establish longitudinal constrained motion in different frequencies and amplitudes. In simulating motions in irregular waves, savitsky-Faltinsen method that is used for estimating motions of mono-hull vessels in regular waves, is expanded.By expanding this method, a software for analyzing longitudinal motions of catamaran in irregular waves is created and compiled. Furthermore, in this paper it is trying to design a control system to decrease interceptor’s indicators of longitudinal motions of high speed catamaran. In this thesis the basis of control system is based on PID
