- Abstract:
- The aim of this project is to design and build degradable in-situ injectable hydrogels used for encapsulating and delivering bioactive agents, such as drugs, growth factors play a vital role in cartilage tissue repair. Among these bioactive agent platlate lysate act the important role in healing. Designing novel hydrogels which provide perfect mechanical properties are essential for carriers used for cartilage repair. The method is an enzymatic method based on incorporation of a mixed cocktail of tyramine, hyaluronic acid and heparin. Using different ratios of the mentioned materials will enable us to tailor gels with different mechanical properties. To evaluate the potential of our hydrogel for growth factor delivery, we have loaded the hydrogel platlate lysate as a representative of growth factors enhancing cartilage repair. Being able to avoid invasive surgeries is the goal in cartilage tissue repair. Injectable hydrogels can be used as a minimal invasive carrier avoiding invasive surgery as well as complete defect filling. These carriers can reach very deep tissue defect which makes them a suitable candidate for severe cartilage diseases we synthesized 2 types of gel. The first group is composed of Hyaluronic Acid-Tyramine (with different degrees of modification) and the second group is composed of Heparin-Tyramine
