- Tests have shown that concrete post-tensioned slab under heat condition suffer a significant reduction in stiffness and strength. Design and implementation of post-tensioned concrete slabs with large spans of industrial structures exposed to extreme variation in temperature can be possible with detailed research on its behavior under heating condition. In this study numerical modelling of PT concrete slabs with unbonded tendons under heating condition was created based on available test results in the literature. A parametric study has been carried out and the results are presented for concrete coefficient thermal expansion, thermal contact conductance between the concrete and the cables, amount of live load, concrete compressive strength, using of non-prestressed steel, tendon’s degree of prestressing, concrete cover, specific heat and thermal conductivity of concrete aggregates and intensity of heat production as important factors of unbonded post-tensioned slab’s behavior under heating condition. The results show that using of aggregates with low thermal expansion coefficient increases the resistance time of the slab. Increasing the thermal contact conductance between concrete and tendon decreases the strength against thermal load. large amount of live load strongly reduces the resistance time of slab. Using non-prestressed steel prevent premature collapse of slab. The concrete cover of the tendon depends on aggregate used in concrete and lightweight concrete requires least cover thickness. Also, using high strength concrete have not a significant effect against thermal load
