  7. Abstract:
  8. Treatment of landfill leachate with membrane bioreactor (MBR) in lab and pilot scale have been studied in this research. MBR biological adaptation procedure at start of biological treatment, choose of membrane materials, membrane production with highest treatment performance and lowest membrane foaling have been studied. Mixed liquor suspended solid of MBR at the start of adaptation period was 3000 ppm and at the end of this period became 7000 ppm, microbial community has been changed in this period. Number of microbial species were reduced and number of these adapted species were increased. Five membranes were prepared with different concentration of PVDF polymer, solvent and non-solvent to find the best membrane, the membrane with lowest water contact angle, 78 degree, highest water flux,1550 LMH and highest flux recovery after BSA solution flux test, 925 LMH, was choose as the best membrane for pilot scale MBR tests. In next step, high performance membrane was tested in pilot scale MBR and result show that MBR treat about 69.66 present of 6000 ppm COD of inlet landfill leachate to 200 ppm in outlet
