  7. Abstract:
  8. experimental data of crude oil for viscosity are available in limited conditions of temperature and pressure. Therefore, the use of empirical equations and relations to predict it at temperatures and pressures beyond the temperature and pressure of the reservoir is inevitable. In order to reduce the cost of the laboratory, the use of a comprehensive model in this project is considered. For this purpose, using two theories of friction and free volume, the Peng Robinson and PC-SAFT equation of states and genetic algorithms and particle swarm optimization are widely used to calculate the viscosity of pure hydrocarbons, binary mixtures of hydrocarbons and crude oil have been used. Obviously, by changing the equation of state, viscosity theory, and the optimization algorithm, a model can be created. In this study, there are eight models for each item. For this purpose, 15 crude oil for tuning parameters and 4 oil for validation have been used. For each oil there are three experimental viscosities at 10, 20 and 40 ° C. Approximately 30% of the experimental data of pure hydrocarbons has been used for validation purposes. It was found that the best prediction model for the viscosity of pure hydrocarbons and mixtures of binary hydrocarbon was "Friction Theory, Peng Robinson and Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm" and "Free Volume Theory, PC-SAFT and Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm" with the mean error of 0.93 and 0.98 percent, respectively. Also, for the 15 crude oils used in this work, the "Friction Theory, PC-SAFT and Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm" model with an average error of 3.6% is the best prediction model for viscosity. It should be noted that the equation of state (Peng Robinson or PC-SAFT) is the most important term for predicting the viscosity of hydrocarbons and crude oil because the viscosity is strongly dependent on temperature and pressure. Hence, the equation of state predicting molar volume will have a great influence on the viscosity assessment
