  7. Abstract:
  8. Issues arising from host-centric nature of IP-based networks lead to emerging Informationcentric networks (ICN). One the most promising architectures of ICN is named data networking (NDN). Unlike IP-based networks, the foundation of NDN is the content not the location which it resides. Voluminous growth of mobile devices necessitates supporting mobility in NDN. Although consumer mobility is supported natively by NDN, the support of producer mobility is yet an open challenge in NDN design. Since producer mobility affects both network performance and end-users satisfaction, it is crucial to handle this problem. The solution is proposed in this paper is based on virtual coordinate-based routing. The key idea of this solution is exploiting handover delay period of time whereas no changes are applied to NDN structure. In fact, we have aimed to start the process of redirecting interest packets to the new mobile producer location before handover beginning. This solution includes two approaches: proactive and hybrid. The general idea of both are roughly similar but the way of selecting a router in order to redirecting interest packets is different. In proactive approach, consumer point of attachment is used while hybrid one finds the most suitable router with the help of named data link state routing protocol. The final results using ndnSIM show that the proactive approach has improved average interest packets retransmission rate and also the average delay experienced by consumers 13.18% and 8.17% respectively. Moreover hybrid approach has improved average interest packets retransmission rate 18.66% and the average delay experienced by consumers 8.51%
