- Abstract:
- The use of wearable surveillance systems and wireless body sensor networks is an economical solution to medical care, which is capable of detecting abnormal conditions early, and by controlling the health status and enabling one to engage in normal and daily activities, improves the patient's quality of life. Information and communication security is very important in this area and its violation may even endanger the life of the patient. The selection and application of the appropriate security mechanism for a wireless body sensor network is subject to consider the requirements and limitations of the network. One of the most important security requirements in this area is the integrity and authentication of the communication between nodes and sink. In this thesis, a security mechanism has been proposed to establish integrity and authentication in communication between nodes and sink. Unlike other methods of authentication in this area, which were designed with a fixed structure of communication and behavior, in the proposed solution called the dynamic middle check method, there are two different types of message structure and behavior for situations where the volume of active attacks is low and conditions that the volume of active attacks is high. In this strategy, efforts have been made to ensure optimal energy efficiency and latency while maintaining security. The results of the evaluations show that this method while providing the security features of integrity, authenticity, freshness and confidentiality, is a good way to reduce energy waste and prevent packet latency increase
