- Abstract:
- The issue of solid and fluid interaction in horizontal axis wind turbines with diameter of more than 120 meters is one of the most important researching subjects of this type of turbines. This issues needs quick and exact solutions because of the high computational cost of fluid and structural domains. In this research a quick method with acceptable accuracy has been suggested which is based on computational fluid dynamic to examine the aeroelastic behavior of rotor and wind turbine tower. The actuator disc method in two domains of axisymmetric and three-dimensional has been used to compute aerodynamic forces. For this purpose a code has been written in C++ to set down virtual momentum on fluid in Fluent Software and then the Novier Stokes equations will be solved by adding a momentum in the role of sink.In this research the results show exact and acceptable quickness for 5MW reference wind turbine according to the Novier Stokes equations. To analyze the structure of wind turbine, dynamic rotor has been examined in presence of tip of the tower deflection and Nacelle and Hub centralized mass in APDL ANSYS Software based on equivalent beam model. To study the deflection of different parts of turbine like the tip of the tower and blade, global coordinate system has been transferred to the local one.The results show that the deflection of tip of the tower is very low (in the order of %0.01 tower's height) and also the inplane deflections of the rotor and tower are less than outplane ones. According to the results, the third end of turbine blade has the most role in the influence of fluid and solid interaction on turbine's performance. The outplane deflection, elastic torsion and the inplane deflection have respectively more impact on the output power.Furthermore elastic torsion, the outplane deflection and then the inplane deflection have respectively more impact on the set trust to the rotor plane. In this research, to study the aeroelastic performance of turbine in wind farm, the reference turbine has been put at the bottom of another turbine and the distribution of power and trust on the turbine blades in various distances has been compared with the results of aeroelastic response of different turbines in two states of upstream effect on downstream one and vice versa
